Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes smashed into quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter of the Patriots 37-31 win over the Bills. The hit drew a roughing the passer penalty, and an expletive from Fitzpatrick directed toward Spikes. It drew an equally strong reaction after the game, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports. “We’re not going to back down from anybody. Spikes is an emotional player,†Fitzpatrick said. “I think he’s a punk at times. He took a cheap shot at Scott [Chandler] in the first game, and he was doing a lot of jabbering and talking and getting out there. “Not one of my favorite players. Not high on my list.†Center Eric Wood called Spikes a "headhunter." He added, "I guess he was trying to take Fitz out of the game." Source: The Redzone
he was a punk in college and should not be any different in the pros. don't like the way he plays. but that is just me. not a very classy guy but then again football is a violent sport and defense takes more of a thuggish attitude to play.
i'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but when jackson got knocked out from a head injury and the bills trainers were helping him off the field, the camera panned over to spikes and he was flexing his muscle watching jackson walk off. yes, he's a punk.
