The Denver Broncos announced the promotions of linebacker Mike Mohamed and safety Kyle McCarthy from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Cornerback Cassius Vaughn was placed on injured reserve with a fractured fibula. A sixth-round pick out of Cal, Mohamed led the Broncos in tackles (15) during the preseason, earning a spot on the 53-man roster. Mohamed appeared in two games before he was waived and re-signed to the practice squad in Week 3. The Broncos signed McCarthy as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame in 2010.
