Browns GM Tom Heckert said that the team is counting on Montario Hardesty to be "ready to go" this season and be a change of pace back opposite Peyton Hillis. Heckert noted that Hillis carried the ball a lot last season and wants Hardesty to help him out. Hardesty is rehabbing his knee following a torn ACL suffered last preseason. Hardesty headed into last season as a contender for the starting running back gig. This year he'll come in behind Hillis, who rushed for 1,177 yards and 11 TDs last year.
