According to Howard Balzer of St. Louis-based 101 ESPN, Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Demar Dotson has signed his restricted free agent tender worth $1.26 million, keeping him with the Buccaneers through the 2012 season. Dotson is a former college basketball player who has been with the Bucs for the past three seasons as they've tried to turn him into an actual football player. Dotson got significant playing time as a sixth offensive lineman in lieu of a quality blocking tight end on the roster last season, and he looked capable in that role. Dotson has all the physical attributes to be a good offensive tackle, but he's still very raw and struggles with balance and strength, especially in the run game. Still, when given the chance, Dotson has shown to be a better pass blocker than Jeremy Trueblood on the right side.
