Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton has a sprained ACL and MCL, which he suffered against the St. Louis Rams, and could return at some point this season.
Stanton does not need surgery and is considered week to week. Arians said Stanton needs rest and rehab, which is extremely good news considering how much pain he appeared to be in after being sacked by the Rams' Aaron Donald. Stanton was unable to put weight on his right leg after the play, left the game and didn't return.

Although not a big fan of Stanton, he's a better option than Lindley or Thomas. For being a 9-year pro I'm kind of surprised that Arians hasn't worked with him more in not staring down his primary receiver at the snap of the ball and not throwing into double and triple coverage. But all things considered, if the Cards can finish the season and somehow win the Division championship and get a bye, Stanton might be able to return for the playoffs.
