Running back Ronnie Brown agreed Friday to a one-year contract that keeps him in San Diego at least through training camp. Brown is the second deal of the day, as running back reached a two-year pact that was announced hours earlier. Their additions of Brown and Danny Woodhead could mean starter Ryan Mathews won't see much more involvement this year on third down than in seasons past. Brown was the Chargers' primary option on third down and in the two-minute offense last year. He had 49 catches for 371 yards while, in the run game, adding 220 yards on 48 carries.
