Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star reports that “people inside the Chiefs’ offices who adore†QB Matt Cassel concede that his time in Kansas City is most likely over. Cassel is set to make $7.5 million for the 2013 season, which is way too much to pay for the kind of production that he’s provided this season. There’s still a chance that Kansas City could look to restructure his contract at the end of the season, but it seems as though the team will look to move in a new direction. There’s been a lot speculation that they could end up targeting a quarterback in the first-round of next year’s draft, but at this point in time it’s hard to say that there’s actually a quarterback prospect worth taking, considering that the Chiefs are almost certain to have a top-five pick. He had one amazing season filling in for Tom Brady, with 11 wins. Was that just the cast of characters around him? Could he be in the top half of QBs again with the right team around him?
He wasn't even that good that one season. He took over a team that went 16-0 and rewrote to offensive record book and had a decent season Sent from my HTC Vivid
