The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a one-year contract with Daniel Alfredsson. Detroit got the deal done soon after NHL teams could sign free agents on Friday afternoon. ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun reported earlier that the deal would happen. The 40-year-old Alfredsson scored 426 goals and had 1,108 points with the Ottawa Senators, who failed to keep their captain for at least another season. He won the Mark Messier Leadership Award after scoring 10 goals and making 16 assists during the 47-game shortened season. Source: ESPN.com
