Eagles head coach Andy Reid told reporters that rookie QB Nick Foles suffered a broken hand during Sunday’s loss to the Washington Redskins, per Jeff McLane. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles will most likely give Michael Vick another start in Week 17 when they take on the New York Giants. “He obviously deserves (an) opportunity to play,†said Reid on Monday, per Geoff Mosher. “He’s excited about it. … And ready to go.†This figures to be both Vick and Reid’s final game with Eagles, but Vick really has a lot to play for in this game. He figures to draw interest from one of the quarterback-needy teams, so a strong performance could at least increase his value to some degree. Matt Flynn secured a $19.5 million contract based on a single strong outing, so it’s fair to assume that Vick could surpass that figure. Source: NFL Trade Rumors
I've seen enough to know I want Foles back as the starter next year. Lets hope that Vick has the best game of his career so he might have an ounce of trade value this offseason.
That really sucks for Foles. Any word on when it happened? I'm wondering how long he played with the broken hand. It will be interesting to see how Vick plays. Surely he will have a lot of fire in his belly knowing how important it may be to his future value. I would not mind seeing him play lights out to make sure the Giants don't make the playoffs. It would be a nice sendoff for Reid.
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr2huZ2pFvE]Foles Injury Impacting Fantasy Lineups - YouTube[/ame] I wonder what Vick can pull out next week. This is possibly his last stand in Philly along with Andy Reid.
A long time. According to Reid, the injury occurred in the second quarter. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8...eagles-broken-hand-michael-vick-start-week-17
Vick will light it up and send Andy out with a Vicktory and then continue doing well next preseason to create another quandary.
