For 14 seasons, the Eagles were primarily a passing team. From 1999 to 2013, the Eagles rarely had rushers among the top 5 or 10 in the league. However, with Chip Kelly, all of that has changed. Fifth-year running back LeSean McCoy has not only experienced career highs in several categories under Kelly, but has won the NFL rushing, all-purpose and yards from scrimmage titles in just 15 games.

The Vikings were forced to sit Adrian Peterson in their finale because of injuries and former Eagles head coach Andy Reid sat Jamaal Charles on Sunday as well. This meant that only Bears running back Matt Forte and Redskins running back Alfred Morris were the only rushers within screaming distance of McCoy for the rushing title. Those two failed to complete their missions, despite playing one more game than McCoy. Charles was the only player close to McCoy for the yards from scrimmage and all-purpose yards titles. Those last two awards also highlight McCoy prowess as a receiver.

With the league titles out of the way, McCoy can just worry about the Cowboys game that will decide the NFC East. McCoy has said he does not care about the records and personal accomplishments, but he only needs 37 rushing yards for the franchise rushing record and 93 total yards to break the Eagles yards from scrimmage title. It is safe to say this is the best season an Eagles running back has ever had.
