Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young pleaded no contest to one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury in a Los Angeles County courtroom. He had been arrested on July 9, 2014, and initially faced charges of one felony battery count with serious bodily injury and four misdemeanor counts of battery on school, park or hospital property. One of the misdemeanor counts was dropped during pre-trial hearings. Young, who will be sentenced May 5 at 11:30 a.m. ET in Department L of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, is facing up to three years in state prison, according to Los Angeles District Attorney spokeswoman Shiara Davila Morales. The misdemeanor counts are expected to be dismissed at the time of the sentencing, Davila Morales said. ESPN
