Free agent cornerback Stanford Routt visited the Buffalo Bills on Monday and will meet with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports. According to La Canfora, Routt will also meet with the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans this week. The 28-year-old Routt is a native of Austin, Texans and played his college ball at the University of Houston. Routt spent much of his first five seasons in a reserve role before starting 30 of 32 games over the last two seasons, totaling 104 tackles, six interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, with 28 passes defensed. The Raiders signed Routt to a three-year, $31.5 million contract extension last March. Source: Mac's Football Blog
shouldn't the chiefs be more concerned with locking up brandon carr, their own guy who is just as good as routt ? unless routt is going to work for half the money of carr, this would make no sense. maybe carr is asking for $10 mill/yr and routt is willing to work for $5 or $6 ?
