Eddie Jones, a longtime executive for the Miami Dolphins, passed away Wednesday morning, Izzy Gould of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Jones was 74. Jones was hired in 1988 by the Dolphins as Vice President of Administration and Finance. He later became the Executive Vice President and General Manager in 1990, then President of the Dolphins in 1996. Jones served on the NFL's Employee Benefits Committee, was a trustee of the Bert Bell Player Pension and is credited with successfully leading an effort to place the Dolphins' training facility in its current Davie location.
