DeAngelo Smith, a free-agent safety who most recently played for the Browns, will visit the Jets this weekend, a person with knowledge of the visit confirmed. That person requested anonymity because the team has not announced the visit. Smith was drafted by the Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2009 draft out of the University of Cincinnati and has had stints with the Browns, Bears and Lions. He has played in a total of seven NFL games, all with the Lions in 2009, with one start. Smith, 25, referenced the Jets a few times on his Twitter page in recent days. When asked by another Twitter user if he is coming to the Jets, he wrote on Tuesday, "Working on it."
