Dwight Freeney left San Diego without having signed a contract, as outside linebacker Thomas Keiser was instead the one to ink a deal, Michael Gehlken of UT San Diego reports. Those two players are viewed internally as two separate situations, as the arrival of Keiser is considered to have no affect on the team's pursuit of Freeney.

The 33-year-old's two-day visit ended Thursday, and those familiar with it describe it as having gone well.

San Diego remains interested in adding Freeney to its outside linebacker corps.
