To no one’s surprise at all, Giants rookie running back David Wilson has been named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. He probably earned that award the moment he broke free for a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the first quarter of the Giants’ 52-27 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon. But he was great all day on kickoff returns, averaging a franchise record 56.8 yards on his four returns, for a total of 227 yards. Wilson is the first kickoff returner to win the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award since David Meggett in 1994. Source: NYDailyNews
