Just hours after placing starting CB Terrell Thomas on injured reserve, the Giants announced that rookie DT Marvin Austin tore his pectoral muscle and is likely out for the season. Austin, the team's second-round pick, suffered the injury in Monday night's win over the Bears. The team's first-round pick, CB Prince Amukamara, has been out with a broken foot and is expected back in October. The Giants did add veteran DT Jimmy Kennedy earlier on Tuesday.

this is just getting a little sad. but at least it's happening soon enough you have a little time to try and work around it (not that it's easy).
