Goodell's message falls on dumb ears

  1. It took a little less than six weeks for Justin Miller, the Jets cornerback/Pro Bowl kick returner, to become the first New York football player to get arrested since Roger Goodell introduced his new personal conduct policy. Since Eric Mangini and Mike Tannenbaum place such a high premium on character, it will be interesting to see how they handle Miller after the allegations he slugged a woman in the face on a Manhattan street last weekend at 4:40 in the morning. Goodell has the power to hand out suspensions, but teams can cut a player for conduct that reflects adversely on the club.
