Bill Belichick and his New England Patriots coaching staff will host Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano and six of his assistants next week at the Gillette Stadium complex in something of a coaching clinic, SI.com reported. If that isn’t surprising enough for the normally secretive Belichick, the Buccaneers and Patriots play this season in Week 3 at Foxborough.

The SI.com story said the Bucs’ contingent will “go over coaching topics and techniques†with Belichick’s staff with a big part of the discussion reportedly focusing on the Patriots’ coaching calendar and schedules—how they organize the preseason, deal with the bye-week schedule and organize practice schedules.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the visit doesn’t violate any league rule or policy, according to the SI.com report.

Belichick and Schiano are good friends, and Belichick has spoken of his respect for Schiano in the past.

weird. and a good indicator that schiano may be realizing he is out of his league and needs a lot of help.
