Help Wanted: Mods, Blog Writers, News Reporters, Bookies

GridironFans needs the members' help! We are looking for the following:

NFL News Reporters - We need people who are willing and able to update the site's NFL News for the site's front page and RSS news feeds. Basic understanding of BBCode is needed so people posting news can format news as per GridironFans.com standards.

NFL Blog Writers - We are looking for members who are interested in writing blogs dedicated to their favorite NFL teams. Our goal is to one day have an active blog for all 32 NFL teams.

Forum Bookies - We are looking for members who would be willing to help set up action behind the scenes for members to bet vCash on via the Bookmakers and Fantasy Sports sections. Ideally we'd have some action going on for all the major sports. So please feel free to let me know if you are interested. We can use all the help we can get with this one!

Forum Moderators - We are looking for active members who are willing to help keep forums (especially the NFL forums) active and assist the site administration in making sure the site rules are upheld. The following forums need help:[list:6d03feb30f]

New moderators would be on a 30 day review and they would be made a permanent moderator once they show their ability to be a moderator as per the site's expectations:

Expectations Of Site Moderators:

Keep your forums active: Even if you visit just once a day is fine as long as you bring some content, help get stagnant threads going, etc. It's your forum, so do what you can to keep it active. One suggestion might be to PM members with a link to a thread you think they might be interested in and ask them what they think. I think the current staff can attest to the fact that this issue is #1 on my list (sometimes I am an*l about it, sorry in advance). Being a moderator means you have made a commitment to help the site and keep your forums active. If for whatever reason you are going to have an extended leave please contact myself or Sweets.

Uphold board rules: We don't have many rules on the site but on occasion we do have to remind people when they do break them. We have a 5 strike warning system in place here. Moderators don't have to worry about actually issuing yellow cards, that is for Admins to hand out. When you feel someone warrants a card, please PM myself or Sweets ASAP. If for whatever reason you need to flex your mod powers on someone, please PM me and let me or Sweets know the details. It also would be a good idea to post about it in the Staff Hangout so other mods can chip in with suggestions on how to handle the situation.

Moderating of Posts: Do not delete threads, instead just move them to the Recycle Bin if you absolutely have to. Deleting of threads is not allowed. Only Admins are allowed to do so. The only time we edit a thread or a post is when something in the thread is either illegal, ph0rnographic (outside of smut central) or if someone is spamming the site. Merging threads is allowed when multiple threads of the same subject are posted. Please note however that when this happens with a Official news story, the procedure taken is to keep the news story up, add a link to the existing thread, and lock the news post. This way the official news still get put on the RSS news feed.

All admin issues are kept private: Anything discussed in this forum stays in this forum. Anything discussed in any mod chats stays there. Being a mod means we trust you. A breach of trust is something that is not taken lightly. We have had issues with it in the past and it can be a very divisive situation when it does happen.

Conflicts with other staff members: If for whatever reason you have a conflict with another mod, please try to keep it in this forum or in PM's. This way we are a solid front to the members and no trolls see a chance to divide the staff.

Have fun in your forum! Interact with the members, come up with fun topics, and feel free to try out ideas you think will help boost member's interest in your forum. I am always open to try new ideas that will help the site out.
