The Jets are favored against the Raiders. But if there was ever a game for rookie Derek Carr to assert himself it would be this one.

That's because, as anticipated, Jets cornerback Dee Milliner will not be able to play due to a high ankle sprain sustained in a preseason practice on Aug. 10. Milliner hasn't been able to practice since.

The Jets' secondary is extremely thin and will be relying on a heavy pass rush most likely in order to rattle the Raiders' rookie. With Milliner unavailable, the Jets will be going with Antonio Allen and Darrin Walls as their starting two corners.

While conventional wisdom would suggest for a rookie quarterback to hand the ball off quite a bit, Raiders coah Dennis Allen may want to let the youngster air it out early and often.
