After Seattle took Irvin, the Seahawks got a call from Jets headquarters. New York "good-naturedly" cursed at the Seahawks for taking the guy they planned to draft one pick later, according Len Pasquarelli of the SportsXchange. Irvin was also believed to be on the short list of candidates in Chicago, Green Bay, and San Francisco. One general manager called Irvin the "hottest player in the draft." This is a case in which the draftnik industrial complex disagreed and didn't see a player's value the same as the NFL did. It also happened with Patriots second-round pick Tavon Wilson. (And we know how Bill Belichick feels about that.) Source: NFL.com
yep, ryans defense woudl have maximized irvin...pete carrol might turn him into aaron curry (who has played well since he left seattle)
so, i wonder how much the seahawks paid Len Pasquarelli to 'report' that? ........... and, yes, it does happen.
