The Jets are starting Geno Smith Saturday night against the New York Giants and plan to play him for at least a half and according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York are handing him a golden opportunity to claim the starting job. This is the third preseason game -- closest thing to the regular season -- and coaches don't like to waste reps on players who can't help the team. They're giving Smith two to three quarters because they believe he has a legitimate chance to unseat Mark Sanchez. What the Jets are really saying is they're desperate to put Sanchez on the bench. People who spoke to owner Woody Johnson after Sanchez's embarrassing performance in Tennessee on Dec. 17 said he was utterly disgusted with his onetime franchise quarterback, there was a "never again" look in his eyes. Actually...Smith might be worse right now...lol. Running out of the endzone for a safety? Who the heck he think he is? Dan Orlovsky?

smith is worse than sanchez.he threw 3 picks and was running for his life every passing play.the end of the rex ryan era has begun and putting sanchez in the game during the 4th quarter of a meaningless game with the 3rd string is what started it. i guess he'll have to make some more foot fetish videos with mrs ryan to relieve stress!
