Jets backup QB Mark Brunell has spent the last two seasons mentoring Mark Sanchez while holding down the No. 2 slot on the team's depth chart. And even though he's approaching the final days of a 1-year deal he signed in July, he hopes his time with the team can continue. "I'd love to continue being a Jet for another year, and if that didn't happen, I would certainly welcome another opportunity," said Brunell, who has been in the NFL for 19 seasons now. "I'd love to keep playing, I love it, I absolutely love it." Brunell, 41, has been the team's holder all year and has appeared in three games as a quarterback over the last two seasons, going 8-16 with two touchdowns and an interception.
