The Jets may be without their No. 1 receiver for their first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals Friday. Santonio Holmes left Saturday's Green and White game after taking a hard hit to his ribs. X-Rays were negative, but coach Rex Ryan said Holmes is very tender and told him he aggravated a past issue with cartilage in his ribs. "We're lucky we never had a fractured rib like we thought, or I thought anyway, so that's a good sign," Ryan said. "Whether he plays this week, I'm not real sure. I'm not going to rule him out, but I would say it is probably doubtful. But we'll see." Holmes missed time last week with what he called general body soreness, before the rib injury.
