ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter speculates that 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh will bring Vic Fangio from Stanford with him as San Francisco's new defensive coordinator. Fangio has 24 years of coaching experience in the NFL, including 11 seasons as a defensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers (1995-98), Indianapolis Colts (1999-2001), and Houston Texans (2002-05). In addition to his coordinator stints, Fangio has coached linebackers with the New Orleans Saints (1986-94) and was a special assistant to Baltimore Ravens head coaches Brian Billick (2006-07) and John Harbaugh, Jim's brother, from 2008-09. Fangio has been around some of the better linebackers in the NFL during his time.....and he'll have the same privilege working with Patrick Willis. He should be a great hire.
