Calvin Johnson missed much of training camp, and three of the four exhibitions, with what the Detroit Lions characterized as a knee bruise.

But the injury was never expected to be serious. Johnson still attended all practices, never wore a protective device on the knee and didn't noticeably limp.

It very well could have been a case of a veteran getting some needed rest when he just wasn't quite 100 percent. And on Thursday, Johnson verified that he's now in fact 100 percent.

"Yep," he said. "I don't feel it at all."

Johnson returned to practice Tuesday, when Detroit began preparations for Sunday's season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, and said he hasn't felt any rust in his game after resting most of the previous two weeks.

"I feel good catching the ball," he said. "No drops. I feel really good."
