As Rob Ryan works to re-tool the New Orleans Saints defense, he’s going to have to come up with a new option at strong-side linebacker. Victor Butler, signed in free agency as a player Ryan was familiar with from their time together in Dallas, will miss the entire season after suffering a torn ACL. It’s a significant loss for the Saints but the addition of Butler was based more on projection than anything else. He was underwhelming during his four seasons with the Cowboys. Butler was injured when he collided with running back Mark Ingram in the open field during a drill on Tuesday, according to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Rob Ryan had what, 6 guys out in Dallas? And still managed to keep that team alive. Yea, if I were a saints fan I wouldn't be to worried. Rob is a pretty good DC, they should be fine. ...and I fade back to black.
