Wide receiver Greg Jennings began planning for his departure from the Green Bay Packers almost immediately after the 2012 season ended. Monday's deadline to designate franchise players passed without Jennings receiving the one-year franchise tender from the Packers, which likely frees Jennings to become an unrestricted free agent on March 12.
Jennings caught just 36 passes last season when he missed eight games with a groin injury that required surgery.

In his absence, quarterback Aaron Rodgers developed a rapport with Randall Cobb, who led the team with 80 receptions, and sharpened his connection with James Jones, who caught an NFL-best 14 touchdowns.

It's possible the Packers will also part with tight end Jermichael Finley, who has reportedly refused a reduction in his salary after catching 61 passes for 667 yards and two touchdowns in 2012.

the packers are not in a position to be paying jennings a ton of money so we've known for a while that he will have a new home in 2013.

I'd like him in Cleveland but would be quite surprised if it actually went down.

well, jennings most likely will follow the money because this should be the biggest contract of his career. it seems like good (but not great) receivers are now receiving $50 million contracts so it will just depend on who is willing to pay him.

No offense, but it is hard to get any FA to go to Cleveland. Whether it's the FO or the weather, no player seems to want to go there.

cleveland has a new owner, i feel like that will change quickly.

He isnt even remotely close to being worth top dollar and the packer know it...they plug and play WRs and let aaron rodgers and their timing based system do work

Cobb and Nelson, maybe even Jones, are better than Jennings at this point anyway.

apparently there has been very little interest in jennings ......... he may end up back with the packers on the cheap.
