If the New England Patriots release Brandon Lloyd, as many have speculated, they won't have a single wide receiver with more than a single career catch. That means that no matter what big names they sign, whether it be Wes Welker or Mike Wallace or someone else, they'll need to fill out the position with depth guys.

One of those depth guys could be receiver Donte Stallworth. This morning, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reported via Twitter that the Patriots have shown some interest in re-signing Stallworth: "The Patriots have shown interest in re-signing Donte Stallworth, per source, but that would be on the back burner for a bit longer."

Stallworth wouldn't be a guarantee to make the roster out of camp, but he showed in his single game last season, as well as in training camp, he still has some value as a deep threat.
