Patriots WR Julian Edelmen Charged With Indecent Assault

New England Patriots [team stats] wide receiver and special teams star Julian Edelman pleaded not guilty today to a charge he groped a woman on the dance floor by reaching up her Halloween costume during a party in a swank Back Bay nightclub. The 25-year-old Edelman posted bail after his arrest earlier this morning but was back in court this afternoon answering to a single count of indecent assault and battery. The alleged dance-floor sexual assault had one witness wanting to take on the Patriot right away, according to a police report. Edelman was set free on personal recognizance and was ordered to stay away from the Storyville club, the scene of the alleged grope. A Boston Municipal Court judge also told him to keep away from the alleged victim and the male witness.
