Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said today that kicker Sebastian Janikowski has a sore groin but nothing more -- good news for the Raiders after Janikowski left last night's preseason game against Detroit early when he pulled up limping on a kickoff return.

"He's basically got a sore groin," Allen said on a conference call. "He's a little tight, but it doesn't seem to be a real pull, defect in the muscle or anything like that. So I don't anticipate it being a big deal."

Allen said as of right now he expects Janikowski to be ready for the season opener Sept. 10. Whether Janikowski kicks again in the preseason will depend on how he feels, but the main priority is having him ready to face the Chargers, so don't expect the Raiders to push him this week. Looks like Eddy Carmona, who hit a 56-yard field goal on his lone attempt against the Lions, will be sticking around for a little while longer.
