There is no quarterback controversy with the Washington Redskins. That’s according to the rookie quarterback whose play in the second half of Saturday night’s preseason game in Chicago supposedly is stirring up that controversy. Kirk Cousins said Monday it’s clear that the starting job belongs to fellow rookie Robert Griffin III. Cousins said he simply is trying to make the most of his chances to impress the team’s coaches. “I don’t think so,†Cousins said in the locker room at Redskins Park following Monday’s practice. “I think that this is Robert’s team. This is Robert’s opportunity. The coaches have made that very clear. It’s my job to do the best I can in my situation and in my opportunities. And that’s what I’m trying to do.†Cousins completed 18 of 23 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns in the second half of the Redskins’ 33-31 loss to the Bears. Source: Washington Post
