As was noted Firday, Bengals free agent rookie wide receiver Taveon Rogers was seen playing quite a bit of cornerback at practice. It was an experiment primarily based on two situations occurring with the team's roster right now. The first being that the wide position group is a crowded one, and the second being that the cornerback group is ailing thanks to the extended injuries to Brandon Ghee, Shaun Prater and Dre Kirkpatrick. The Bengals' solution, according to multiple sources is to move Rogers from wide receiver to cornerback and will be changing his jersey number according to a tweet from Joe Reedy: Joe Reedy joereedy #bengals officially move Taveon Rogers from WR to CB, now wearing Number 39.

Dem injuries force you to do funny things sometimes. Just ask Justin Edelman.
