An 0-3 start and an inconsistent ground game have not convinced Saints interim coach Aaron Kromer to change running backs.

He confirmed after practice Thursday that former first-round draft pick Mark Ingram, the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner, will remain active this Sunday while Chris Ivory sits out his fourth straight game.

Ingram has rushed 27 times for 79 yards (2.9 average) with one touchdown and zero receptions through three games this year while sharing time with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles. His longest gain is 12 yards, and his best run in five carries against Kansas City last Sunday was 4 yards.

“Those (three) guys have the chance to be the most universal and productive running backs right now,â€￾ Kromer said. “We have two other running backs on the roster, and when it's time, we'll put them in a game.â€￾

He has a problem with ball security but he is a beast running the ball. I have not been impressed with Ingram so far in his short career. Def not worth the first round pick that was used to draft him. PT is by far the better back out of the three that has been active so far. Sproles is his usual water bug self. Sit Ingram and try out the other backs.
