Dam Pompei of the National Football Post reports that sources around the league believe that Seattle could be the “early frontrunner†in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes. Pompei writes that head coach Pete Carroll is “believed to have a strong interest in at least exploring†the idea of signing Manning. He mentions that playing in Seattle would likely reduce the scrutiny that Manning would otherwise have to deal with in different markets and mentions that a good core of solid players should also be an attractive consideration. So far, the Dolphins, Redskins and Cardinals have been linked to Manning more than any other team but Seattle has kept pretty quiet regarding their interest in Manning. There’s little doubt that Seattle will have to add some addition talent to the position after the combination of Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst put together a lackluster year in 2011. Could be a good fit for them, Marshawn Lynch, Mike Williams revived career. Peyton might bring it together for a few seasons.
A good, improving, young Oline, decent running back, a baby Fitz in Sid Rice, couple good secondary options in Tate and Williams, quality pass-catching TE, and a rising defense. As much as Id hate to see Peyton twice a year, its a good fit for him.
T-Jack had them at 7-9... had an outside look at the playoffs too but Whitehurst cost them a game or two, not a doubt that Peyton makes them instant contenders
