The Seahawks' hedged on another need position for the 2013 season Monday as longsnapper Clint Gresham has signed his 1-year restricted free agent tender. The Seahawks had given him a right of first refusal tender worth $1.323M and after apparently getting no better offer, Gresham elected to sign his offer sheet and stay with the team.

Gresham has been a steady and consistent performer for the Seahawks and very rarely misses on his snaps. Pete Carroll and company take special teams very seriously so it's no surprise that the team seems willing to pay a premium to keep Gresham on the roster. Theoretically, you could still find a longsnapper among undrafted rookie free agents and pay him the absolute minimum if he outperforms the veteran, but it's an important if underrated job, so apparently dependability is an key factor here.
