The Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent running back Adrian Peterson, Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports. Wide receiver Matt Simons has been waived to add Peterson to the 80-man roster. A sixth-round pick (199th overall) out of Georgia Southern by the Chicago Bears in 2002, Peterson has rushed for 1,283 yards and 8 touchdowns in 106 games over the last nine seasons. Peterson has added 78 receptions for 665 yards. Peterson has been core member of the Bears' special teams units since the 2004 season, totaling 74 tackles and four forced fumbles.
