Seahawks TE John Carlson Won't Return Vs. Bears After Head Injury

  1. Seahawks tight end John Carlson was taken from the field on a cart after landing on his head following a reception about three minutes into Sunday's divisional playoff game against the Bears and will not return. Chicago had taken a 7-0 lead on a 58-yard pass from Jay Cutler to Greg Olsen when Carlson went down. Seattle took over at its 24, and on first down, Carlson caught a flare pass from Matt Hasselbeck along the left sideline. He tried to leapfrog Chicago's Danieal Manning but got upended, his helmet and right shoulder taking the brunt of the fall. Carlson stayed down for several minutes surrounded by medical personnel and teammates.
