Two of the 49ers' high-profile draft picks who are coming off significant knee injuries are expected to report Thursday to take part in the team's rookie minicamp.

Florida State defensive lineman Tank Carradine and South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore, a fourth-round selection, will not take part in the on-field activity during the three-day get-together for rookies and first-year players. But they will still be presented with plenty of work.

Most of the players will get their first glimpses of the 49ers' playbook. At this point, the mental part and classroom sessions are more important than the football practices, which run Friday through Sunday at the team's Santa Clara training complex.
