The only notable injury the Texans suffered in their 26-13 preseason victory at Carolina involved nose tackle Shaun Cody. Cody suffered a back injury that involved one of his disks, according to coach Gary Kubiak. Cody received an epidural to get some relief for the pain in his back. “It’s a disk issue,†Kubiak said at his Sunday news conference. “It’s going to be evaluated. Obviously, he’s going to miss some time.†Cody will be replaced in the lineup by Earl Mitchell, who’s playing in his third season. Behind Cody are Ra’Shon Harris and Hebron Fangupo are the backup nose tackles. “Earl played very well,†Kubiak said.
