T.J. Yates received ample help from a stout defense and running back Arian Foster, who became the first back to rush for more than 100 yards against the Falcons in 15 games , as the Texans defeated Atlanta Falcons 17-10 before a crowd of 71,545 on Sunday at Reliant Stadium. Yates, a 24-year old rookie, arguably out-played Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who was under duress for most of the game from Houston’s blitzing 3-4 defense. The Falcons’ hope were dashed when Houston defensive end Antonio Smith tipped a fourth down-and-7 pass with under three minutes to play in the game. The defense forced a punt and the Falcons got the ball back with just 59 seconds left. Ryan drove the Falcons down to Houston’s 30, but his pass intend for Julio Jones in the end zone with one second left was incomplete.
