As the guy who signs the checks here previously noted, a panel discussion on NFL Network Monday night that featured three ex-NFL players (Ray Buchanan, Jamie Dukes, and Terrell Davis) turned into a Sgt. Schultz convention, with all three of them proclaiming that they know nothing about Michael Vick being involved in dog fights. We're starting to see a split emerge in the reporting and commentary on the Vick story: Journalists are beginning to treat the story with the seriousness it deserves, while ex-athletes seem to value loyalty to Vick above disseminating accurate information.
