Another one busted... http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/tdf2008/news/story?id=3492925 It looks like whoever wins a stage in this race ends up testing positive for something, usually EPO. I think it is really sad that one of the most important races in the sports world has lost absolutely all credibility.
Don't worry, we're fine. I used to love it but now, I couldn't care less about the Tour de France.
I would say , that 50 % or more MLB players are doped. In every NFL team 10-15 players , too ! Thats a problem , too , right ? But nobody cares about it :icon_wink: Angel Heredia , only one example.....
It's easier to point the finger to a sport, that nobody really cares for, than to one of your most popular sports. I think you can assume, that the same ammount of soccer players, juicing too.
Yeah right... Well, Laurent Jalabert was our latest big chance. He won the Vuelta and several great classics but came short in Tour de France. Richard Virenque won the best climber jersey 7 times but was too limited in time trial to compete for the yellow jersey. Now if you want to play this game, name one guy from England who ever had a chance to win...
I'll give you Jalabert, but IIRC, Virenque was the centre of the Festina Doping Affair, which invalids your point. And from GB, there's been Barry Hoban and Robert Millar
Isn't Millar Scottish? At least, you could have said Stephen Roche as a great UK cyclist. And I agree with the Virenque mess, that's what made me turn my back on cycling.
