The lawyer for former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress confirmed via e-mail minutes ago that his client will testify before the grand jury on Wednesday morning. Burress is facing two counts of felony gun possession and his attorney, Ben Brafman, is clearly hoping Burress' testimony will result in the grand jury's deciding against indictment. Brafman said Monday afternoon Manhattan district attorney Robert Morgenthau's comments to the New York Post in Monday's editions might have "compromised" the grand jury's objectivity and independence in this case. I'm pretty sure he should've taken a deal on this one - the DA sounds like he's on the war path now and they don't like take kindly to illegal guns in NY, they could be fixing to make an example of Plax.
