Brandon Marshall can make average quarterback look better on paper, which is all we care about in fantasy football. If Marshall can build a rapport with QB Geno Smith who’s to say he can't become a productive weekly fantasy starter. For those of you expecting decent numbers from Decker last year paid the price as Smith only managed 2,525 yards, 13 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. We saw Geno pulled in favor of backup Michael Vick in games where he struggled. Nevertheless, value is always key to winning fantasy football championships and Marshall’s stock should hit basement level prices making him a decent bargain player, but is his ceiling high enough in New York? Paired up with WR Eric Decker the duo could become a lethal combo for quarterback Geno Smith, considering the history I'm probably passing on Marshall as his fantasy football outlook is rather grim with Geno capping his upside tremendously.
Marshall turns 31 this month and is only the fourth NFL player in the last 20 years to be traded three or more times. Why so many? In the past he has caused issues in the locker room and usually carries a hefty salary; those are two things that come to mind but man check out his highlights.
Des's projections don't see to far off considering the target hog Marshall can become. For those of you wondering what Brandon Marshall's value is for 2015 I'd warn you to temper your expectations and only draft him if he falls to you below the 7th/8th round of your fantasy football draft, which probably won't happen. I've always preached consistency as a strong measuring stick when drafting and Marshall's new team and young QB are the exact opposite of consistency. Avoiding Marshall is the safe play, even with a cheap value pick. You'll line him up and get 3 or 4 good double digit fantasy point games out of him for the season, will that win your league? Maybe in a large PPR league and that's about it.
