The first weekend of camps and already we've seen injuries to key players like Montario Hardesty, Percy Harvin and DeSean Jackson. While Harvin and Jackson's hurts appear to be minor, not so for Denver Broncos running back, Knowshon Moreno.
Moreno suffered his right leg injury after catching a screen pass and fell in pain after making a cut. He had to be carted off the field and assisted into the locker room.
Since team officials are not calling his injury minor, it has to be serious.
The hamstring injury appears severe but according to team sources it is NOT torn as first feared.
Regardless, Moreno will likely miss the remainder of the summer healing and rehabbing. His availability, even rusty and ill-prepared, for the season opener is now in jeopardy.
This season is expected to be the sophomore's breakout campaign, and he's rated pretty highly in fantasy rankings. Now you'll want to drop him just a bit on draft day. While he should be fine, even if he's back in time to start the season, he won't be 100% up-to-speed. That could take several games.
Update: Now the team is saying it is a slight tear and Knowshon will be out three weeks, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that quick a recovery.
