The Buffalo Bills received some relatively good news on Monday.
Running back Fred Jackson has a broken hand, suffered in the Bills' first preseason game. He is expected to miss at least the rest of the preseason, with an expected 4-6 week absence.
Also, Marshawn Lynch sprained an ankle in the game and could miss the rest of the preseason as well. Bills coach Chan Gailey indicated that Lynch's injury was not expected to be serious.
The fantasy impact of these injuries could be significant. First round pick CJ Spiller will now be expected to shoulder the load for Buffalo in the backfield, the passing game and returning kicks. The Bills have tried to move Lynch throughout the offseason, and used the ninth overall pick on Spiller. When, and how, Jackson and Lynch return from these injuries, coupled with how Spiller performs while being the primary back, could determine the future in the Buffalo backfield.
This situation will continue to evolve as the preseason continues
