Fearless NFC Predictions For 2010

August 28, 2010 by Kurt Turner

We thought we would take another intermission from all the analysis to bring you an oldie but a goodie: Fearless NFC Predictions!

Prediction pieces are always fun aren’t they? They stir the waters, get people thinking, and always contain at least one half-cocked prediction within the list. But the other fun side of them is having the ability to come back to them at the end of the year, to see how close you were in each of your predictions.

I tried to mix in fantasy football and regular football predictions, which is something you don’t normally see. So read on, and have fun, because that’s what these lists are all about.

10. WR Greg Camarillo will go a second straight year of not dropping a single pass, and will wind up being a better than projected fantasy player.
9. SS Morgan Burnett will wind up being this year’s biggest IDP sleeper, and will be paramount in helping the Packers not only get to the Super Bowl, but also win it all.
8. The Saints will open the season will four straight losses, and in that four game span Brees won’t even make it to the 1,000 yard passing mark.  But don’t worry, he’ll still finish the year with 4,000 +.
7. TE John Carlson will finish as a Top Five NFC TE, and he will end the year with 65 catches for 780 yards and 9 TDs.
6. WR Dez Bryant will be a disappointment in Dallas, as well as in fantasy. Too many cooks in the kitchen kids, too many cooks.
5. WR Laurent Robinson will finish as a nice surprise for the Rams, and fantasy owners who decide to take a chance on him ending the year with 900 yards, seven TDs on 60 grabs.
4. The Carolina Panthers will make the playoffs behind QB Matt Moore while the Arizona Cardinals will not make the playoffs despite being led by Fitz.
3. RB Javid Best will start the season as the primary back in Detroit, not Kevin Smith.
2. TE Chris Cooley, not Vernon Davis, will be the number one TE out of the NFC…but it will be real close.
1. QB Brett Favre will not eclipse 3,500 yards or 25 TDs in 2010.
