There is no doubt that Felix Jones is a great player and one of the best running backs in the league in terms of rushing and receiving ability. But Jones owners know too well that having Jones on their rosters usually means a a week or two on the bench because of injuries. This year is no exception. Jones wound up suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 6 against the Patriots and is expected to sit for the next 2-4 weeks.
If you had been keeping up on my sleeper series back during the Summer, you may have read my piece on rookie DeMarco Murray. Well now that Jones is out, it's Murray's time to shine. We saw a little bit of what he could do after relieving Jones in the second quarter Sunday, as he rushed for 32 yards. It wasn't overly impressive if you look at the stat box, but Murray ran hard and played much better than the numbers show. As a Jones owner, Murray should be at the top of your list in terms of waiver-wire priorities. I know that many will argue that Tashard Choice will be the better of the two. But lets face it, Choice has clearly been unreliable and in the coaching staff's doghouse for quite some time now.
So as you prepare for this week's waiver wires, make sure you to add Murray in all leagues. He should be a strong replacement for Jones and non-Jones owners over the next few weeks.
